Welcome to our 2010-11 concert season which has something for everyone to enjoy, and which also sees us making links with local organizations. Our four major concerts will all be in Sheffield Cathedral but this year, for the first time, we are taking our Carol Concert to Ecclesfield Parish Church.
The season gets under way in October with three staples of the choral repertoire by Vivaldi, Handel and Purcell. In December we couple two works by Schütz and Britten and then continue the Christmas theme with carols in Ecclesfield, where we hope you will join us to help raise money for their 'Peal Appeal' to fund improvements to their bell tower.
In April we take great pleasure in working again with the Manchester Camerata as they accompany us in Bach's masterpiece, the 'Mass in B minor', and our season concludes with a performance of Rossini's 'Petite messe solennelle', in conjunction with the University of Sheffield Arts Festival.
